Sam joined HCC as their full time evangelism pastor in 2019. Sam has a long history of effective ministry that has taken him from Kentucky to Indiana to Illinois. Sam has a ministry degree from Cincinnati Bible College and is married to his wonderful wife Michelle. Sam has a passion for sharing the love of Jesus with all people in a real and authentic way. He has a heart for the broken and hurting. Psalm 34:18-19 - The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, And saves those who are crushed in spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
Jacob joined HCC as a part time Associate in 2014 and then full time as the Discipleship pastor in 2016. He has a passion for connecting people to Christ and each other in the church. Following the principles of 2 Timothy 2:2, Jacob seeks to grow the faith of others as they strive to become disciples for Christ. He has a Masters of Business Administration (2007) and Masters of Christian Ministry (2013) from Olivet Nazarene University. He has been married to his wife, Karin, for 15 years and has three children: Johnathan, Ava, and Paige. His other passions include movies and enjoying the capabilities of new technology.
Dustin joined Herscher Christian Church on Jan. 1st of 2010 as the Worship Leader. He has a strong passion for sharing the Word through song. His favorite passage and words that inspire his worship are; Colossians 3:16 (NIV) "Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts." Dustin has a Business degree from University of Phoenix. He loves boating, playing golf, and spending time with his wife, Tammy, and his two girls, Bailey and Kylie.
Andy started as an intern at Herscher Christian Church in September of 2013. He went on to become the youth pastor in the summer of 2014. He has a passion for seeing students develop critical thinking skills. Andy creates an environment where students are challenged and allowed to ask tough questions to better prepare them to stay engaged in their faith. His vision for the youth ministry is: "Developing student leaders who better serve the church now and in the future.” The verse that inspires Andy’s ministry is 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Andy graduated from Lincoln Christian University in December of 2013 with a degree in Youth Ministry. He loves spending time his wife, Ashlen, learning, and is mildly obsessed with sports.
Kathleen started in June 2017 as our full time Children's Minister. She graduated from Johnson University with a degree in Children'ts Ministry and an emphasis on Preschool & Daycare. Kathleen strives to create an environment where children have fun while learning about God and all the wonderful things He has done for us. Kathleen's vision for her ministry is "for every child to have a feeling of belonging and to know they are loved and wanted by the one true God." The verse that Kathleen bases her ministry on is Matthew 19:14 "Jesus said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these." .
